In case you didn’t have a chance to read this case study of an American buyer of Chinese electronics as listed on our blacklist, the buyer’s advice is spot on that I thought I would give our readers the highlights: Even if the factory is big it doesn’t mean they know what they are doing! […]
Long Story Short, I have been scammed by a Chinese supplier named; Custen Electronic Co,. Ltd. CR No: 1801705. They received my payment of $2,600 via TT in advance and which by the way they acknowledged and withdrew as well, contact person Jessica kept asking to wait until order is ready and when it’s ready she would ship it. She kept emailing saying that same thing over and over for two weeks and now she is not even replying my emails, tried different emails IDs and her phone is not working too.
I searched on the internet for a reliable supplier of electric scooters. I found out that Alibaba.com has scanned his suppliers and named the good ones GOLD MEMBER SUPPLIER. I bought electric scooters from Yongheng Car Industry Co, Ltd, also from Hangzhou. I paid USD 9,000,00, to a Gold member supplier of Alibaba, and it did not work out! They were Gold Member supplier for 7 years. I succeeded in putting complaint on their site. They simply deleted it. Twice!! They blocked all forums on Alibaba, you can not write review anywhere about suppliers and so on, so nobody will know how corrupt some Chinese business people are.
First off, I am not saying that Alibaba itself it is scam. Imagine how hard it would be for them to monitor a database the size of Alibaba to keep out the scams and rip offs. So my point in writing this blog post is simply to warm buyers not to rely solely on the directory to enforce the professionalism of the suppliers found on the given directory. It is up to us, the buyers, to do our own due diligence before we send money and issue purchase orders.
A growing number of listings at Supplier Blacklist involve scams targeting buyers of famous brand electronics. The China Sourcing Information Center did a great video exposing the scam in detail. Find some of his key points and a link to the video in this article.
