How We Rate Casinos
Our Rating Philosophy
Rating an online casino should never be a matter of gut feeling. Our team approaches every platform with a structured, repeatable process designed to answer one core question: would we recommend this operator to a friend risking their own money? That question drives every score we publish.
Our editors bring years of combined experience in the online casino space, including regulatory analysis, operator vetting, and firsthand testing. We apply that experience consistently, so a small offshore-facing site and a major state-licensed brand are judged against the same expectations.
The Criteria We Evaluate
Every casino we review is assessed across six core areas.
Game selection. We look at the range and quality of slots, table games, and live dealer options, along with the reputation of the software providers behind them. A strong library signals an operator investing seriously in the player experience.
Bonuses and promotions. Welcome offers and ongoing promotions are only meaningful if the terms are fair. We read the fine print on wagering requirements, maximum bet limits, and expiration windows, and we flag offers designed to look better than they actually are.
Payment methods. We examine deposit and withdrawal options available to US players, processing times, minimum and maximum limits, and any hidden fees. Slow or restrictive payout practices are one of the most common reasons an operator ends up flagged on our site.
Customer support. We test response times and quality across available channels, whether that’s live chat, email, or phone. An operator that’s hard to reach when something goes wrong is a red flag, regardless of how polished its site looks.
Mobile experience. Most US players gamble from a phone at some point, so we check how well a casino’s mobile site or app performs: load times, navigation, and whether the full game catalog is accessible on smaller screens.
Licensing and security. This is foundational. We verify licensing jurisdiction, check for valid security certifications and encryption standards, and research the operator’s track record on player fund handling and dispute resolution.
How the Process Works
Each operator goes through the same sequence: documentation review, hands-on testing of the platform, verification of licensing claims, and cross-referencing player feedback and complaint history. Scores are assigned only after all six criteria have been examined, not based on a single strong or weak point.
We revisit reviews periodically rather than treating them as static. Licensing status, ownership, and payment practices can change, and our content is updated to reflect that.
Editorial Independence and Honesty
We earn revenue through affiliate relationships with some operators featured on our site. We think it’s important to say that plainly rather than bury it in fine print. That said, commercial relationships do not set our ratings. An operator’s score is determined by how it performs against our criteria, not by whether it’s a partner.
When a partnered casino underperforms, we report that honestly. When a non-partnered casino performs well, we say so too.
Player Protection Comes First
Operators showing clear signs of unsafe practices, unresolved player complaints, or questionable licensing are excluded from recommendation entirely, regardless of any commercial arrangement. We’d rather lose a partnership than steer players toward a platform we can’t stand behind.
That commitment to accountability is the foundation of every rating we publish, and it’s why we revisit and refine our reviews on an ongoing basis.
