I was looking for good offer to buy small hobbyist CNC router to have some fun learning basic CNC task. I decided to buy it from Aliexpress or Alibaba as prices were acceptable and reviews more or less OK when you compare it with European manufacturers. When I search Aliexpress I found one store called “LYCNC Engraving Machine Store” which advertise fast shipment from Poland and offers exactly the machine that I was interested in (free Mach3 software, limit switches already installed, etc, everything seemed to be perfect). Because I live in Poland it was very attractive to me, I did not have to wait for 2 or 3 months for delivery, seller (Mr. Wayne Mao) told me that after payment delivery will take 5 to 7 days only, I was excited. Finally I decided to buy it from this shop “CNC 6040 4axis together with USB controller” all for 2040US$, vat included and no import fees as all items according to the seller were already in Poland. We made a deal and I transferred agreed 2040US$ to his account in OCBC bank. After another 3 to 4 days he wrote to me and apologized that when he contacted warehouse in Poland to arrange the shipment he found out that unfortunately they sold the last CNC machine to somebody else. The first instruction from Mr. Mao was to wait another 50-60 days for delivery from China. I was not interested to wait so long and asked him for refund. He reply that refund will take 90 days as his company need time for that. In this case I change my mind and decided to wait for delivery from China. That time back he promised that I will not have to pay any import fees or vat (at present obviously I have to cover all additional expenses). Today is 20th of January 2022, already 2 months after the purchase and I am still waiting for delivery. Nobody knows where the machine is and Mr. Mao last information is that delivery will be in two weeks (end of January 2022 from Hungary). This company does not provide any tracking information about the shipment and no information’s passed from the seller seems to be truthful.

The company “Shenzen Liyand Welding Equipment Co., Ltd.” owns a lot of virtual shops on Aliexpress (LYCNC Engraving Machine Store) and Alibaba (LYBGACNC, USBearth) and do business under different names. You need to be very careful when doing business with them. Especially when you make direct wire transfer. When I look up on internet there are a lot of problems with refund of money from Chinese companies, its almost impossible to get the money back. It’s very sad that EU people are so hopeless and not protected.

I think its more safe to avoid direct wire transfer to overseas companies. Its more expensive but you have some protection.
