I would not recommend working with Barum Electronics. It appears they are responding to other reviews saying the information is not true or it’s for a different company. I know I have the correct company and have no reason to post this other than to help others that are considering buying from Barum Electronics.

We purchased 2,000 MCUs from Barum Electronics at a price per unit that is 3-4X what we normally pay. The parts were shipped to us and we tested on multiple PCBs with different assembly houses (costing thousands of dollars) and determined that the parts were either fake or defunct. We believe that Barum knew or had reason to believe that the parts were fake because they did not ask us to ship the parts back when we brought this up, immediately offering a partial refund. If they believed the parts were good, I believe they would have wanted them back. Barum Electronics refunded only 64% of the amount that we paid for the parts even though we were within their 90 day RMA window for a full refund. Even when factoring in a part restocking fee, the minimum we have seen in other similar situations is 85% refunded. In the current chip supply environment, fake parts are becoming more and more of a problem. You want to work with a partner that can give you assurances that a full or substantial refund will be made if parts are found to be fake.

Based on my experience, you should not have confidence that Barum Electronics will be a partner you can rely on in this environment. We hope others will avoid the headache and financial loss by not buying parts from Barum Electronics.
