Our company was contacted via Alibaba – the company in question BuaXianMu Trading Co claimed that they wanted to buy a large quantity of Oats for Export to China. Reason was to fill a Government Contract. I travelled t Xian as I was in Hong Kong on business and met at an office at the address on 26/09/18. They seemed legitimate and we met in a Boardroom to discuss contract. They wanted purchase of Gold Bar as gift for buyer and expensive Dinner. We signed contract and didn’t agree to buying anything.
Only after departing did we discover some information on this company and we were advised by our Government that this Province had alot of reports of “Come to China and Sign a Contract” scam.
Upon returning to Australia, they then said they needed to get Oats tested (Testing cost $2000 USD per 8 SKU’s) which is not realistic pricing or rquirement and needless to say the deposit payment never arrived. Only cost was time, travel and embarrassment with suppliers who thought they had a large order.
We have had attempted scams previously, where buyer in China would only meet in Hotel lobby. This was more advanced as they actually had an office (maybe rented space).
Any other suppliers, please take care not to get scammed by BuaXianMu Trading company in China,
