User Experience:
My company was about to go line down because our current supplier could not pull in our order on the date we required. So, I was forced to try and source the part from another source. I conducted a search via google and Components-HK came up. I searched the part on their website and then contacted them via email for a quote. Roy Cheung from HK responded very promptly with a quote that was formatted very professionally. I asked him several questions about authenticity of the parts, documentation, date codes, 1c year warranty etc… and he answered them all correctly.

Every question I asked he had the correct answer for and he told me how this was going to be a great beginning to our business relationship. From there he asked me for target pricing which I gave him and he accepted. He then sent me a proforma invoice, which was titled GOTEK ELECTRONICS CO., LIMITED. This seemed strange, but I proceeded and had my AP wire the money. The next day he responded saying that the account # he gave me only accepted HK funds and the US funds would be rejected. They would not accept the payment and if possible could I stop the wire. My AP tried to stop the wire but it was too late. Roy assured us the funds were rejected and would be sent back. So, because we were so desperate for parts, my AP sent another wire in US funds. During all of this Roy and I exchanged emails on a daily basis and everything seemed like business as usual.

Once the final wire was received Roy said he would send me tracking info. This is when all correspondence ceased. I emailed him probably 50 times a day and also emailed the other address listed on their website for days and days. No response from here on out. Once he received the final wire, that was it. He totally ripped us of.

User Recommendations:
Do not buy parts from anyone overseas unless you have done an extremely extensive search first. Even then I would not recommend it. I will never buy anything from a supplier overseas again unless we have already been doing business with them. Its just too easy for people to set-up websites that appear to be legit businesses.
