My company is in fastener/hardware importing business for over 10 years. We usually purchase products from our China suppliers. At beginning of 2018, China steel material price was roaring. We faced to very comparative market. To keep supplying to our customer and make profit, we tried to locate new supply resources from India.
We did key word search on Alibaba.com, then found “CHANDAWALLA AUTO INDUSTRIES” company, their products are matching our needs, then we contacted them. The second day, the owner, Pranav Chandawalla replied back our inquiry and claim that they are expert of the industry. During our initial communication through email and social media (WhatApp), he seems like a responsible guy and knowledge. After negotiation, we placed order to his company, the PO is about 100K USD worth of product.
The PO requested the 1st ship out date on 1/10/2018, they actually ship out on 3/13/2018; the PO requested the 2nd ship out date on 3/1/2018, they actually ship out on 3/31/2018. Due to the significant delay of delivery, we rush out both shipment total 40 pallets of products to our customer and did not do a careful inspection.
When our customer open the package and prepare to use those items, we found out that all their supplied products are really bad in quality. There are cracks on bolt body; there are missing locking feature on nuts; there are missing items in package; the most significant defect and cause the entire shipments are not usable is that the bolt treads are damaged. There is not way we can sort out.
Two shipments of goods, total 40 pallets, worth about 50K usd, are totally scrapped, we can’t use single one of them. When I contact Pranav, his attitude is really bad and insulted me in the conversation. I showed him those bad item pictures, and comparison with our good items, he keep saying that their item has no problem. I am speechless.
Totally, this company has very low quality standard. In their mind, as long as the bolt and nut can fit in, then they are good. He likes to show off his acknowledgement, but in actual production, has no quality level at all.

We just found about this posting last week through one of our prospective buyers.
Most of what is written is rubbish. There were enough samples sent to the buyer prior to the commencement of production for his approval. Also, he made some payment only after he received the first consignment in April 2018. If our quality was so bad, why would he make the payment? He himself has said he in in this business for 10 years; so he fully understands what is acceptable or not. Infact, we showed him the photos of his samples that he had sent and they were pretty average to say the least. One of them is attached. He cancelled the contract abruptly and we are left with packing material and goods of worth USD 55000.00. We tried our best to resolve the issue but it seemed quite obvious to us that he had no intentions of doing so.
We don’t really understand how you can allow something like this to be posted on your site without proper verification of claim. We could very well reciprocate the same against him but we know in such cases, common sense has to prevail.
