User Experience:
The relationship was established with this supplier and the first year went ok. There were several lead time and quality issues which caused our company a significant amount of lost revenue. The relationship continued but we only purchased small parts from this supplier (meaning things like end caps). For the first 2 orders, they did ok with those. Then they stopped meeting our NPT specs and started having issues with powder coating. I ordered black end caps and they suggested to make grey end caps because that is the powder they had. We have another great supplier in a region near buy so we sent a tooling migration notification. The new supplier set up an appointment with the Yi Xin Precision Metal & Plastic Ltd.

When they arrived at the address provided, they were told that our tools were not there. They were located in three other facilities. The supplier spent 3 days in the town, waiting for the tools or tool locations to be released. They didn’t allow for the inspection so the supplier left. Instead of allowing for an inspection, they said they will pack up the tools and ship them over. At this point, I was looking forward to being done with Yi Xin Precision Metal & Plastic Ltd. and agreed to it. Once the tools arrived in the new factory, they realised that one of the tools was missing. Both, the new supplier and I tried reaching the sales person I have been dealing with all these years. He blocked their phone calls and stopped responding to me. After about 2 weeks of calling, we were able to reach another sales person at Yi Xin Precision Metal & Plastic Ltd. She stated that the factory can’t find the missing tool but they are looking. She continued with that statement for another 2 weeks and now has stopped responding to my emails as well. This is very disappointment as we were able to establish two amazing manufacturer in the China region who have been contributing to our companies success and we wanted to end our business with this supplier and take what is ours. All tools were paid for by us in full. No funds are outstanding with this supplier. They have no reason to hold back our tool or refuse to look for it. A tool doesn’t just get lost. Very disappointing and a very poor reflection of what a good supplier in China is capable of doing.

We have changed our process of finding suppliers in the region. A reliable third party has been involved. Factory inspections are being conducted. Supplier activities are being red flagged and communicated accordingly.
