We are an Australian Candle Company delivering Soy Wax candles to a global market. We are continually developing new products and were sourcing new Candle Jars from China. We searched on Alibaba and found many suppliers where we engaged in discussion and asked a lot of questions regarding quality and price. Quality was the priority not price. After many months searching and discussing we decided to go with Shijiangzhuang Langxu Glassware Co Ltd. This proved to be a major decision that has brought our business to its knees.
We developed many samples of which we signed off on and our expectation was that we would receive similar quality jars upon delivery. Many reassurances were given to us by the sales teams and guarantees that we will receive a high quality product. Unfortunately this was not the case… We received delivery and started sorting through the jars and basically every box we opened, there was a fault with almost every jar. Missing decals, dirty jars scratched jars, paint peeling off jars, none could be used.
We notified the supplier immediately who then advised us to take photos and supply back to them. This went on for weeks whilst we sorted through the faults. The more we looked the more we found wrong and unusable jars. We could not take any risks with our quality so we advised the supplier that the jars were not acceptable and to come back to us with a solution. At this point we had paid in full, including shipping costs to Australia. The supplier then failed to return our emails and communication… At the at point we continued to send emails until we had a response from a new person in the business. The person we had been dealing with was now not contactable. We were dealing with someone else who we had never dealt with before. At that point all we got was a list of excuses. “That’s what you get for the price you paid, the shipping was the reason the glassware was dirty, scratched, paint peeling off missing decals,” etc… The lies and dishonesty started.
We are now about 3 months into back and forth emails and photos of every box we open to show them the jars they sent us were not acceptable and they were not cooperating, only excuses and lies. We then decided to ask for our money back! Of course they would not give us our money back so we then decided to go to ‘Alibaba’ complaints center. This was a total waste of time!!! For anyone seeking support from this organization, don’t waste your time!! They basically said we have 3 months to make a complaint and then it is out of their hands. I tried to explain and also showed email correspondence that it has taken several months of negotiation with the supplier to get to this point where they are not willing to fix their problems. So, Alibaba keep closing the complaint and I keep opening up new complaints.
We then send emails almost daily back to the supplier and they then offer a 50% refund!!! We after many emails back to them to ask for a FULL refund, accept the offer.
Now several weeks and now months have passed and the supplier is not contactable, not responding to our acceptance of the 50% and not fulfilling their agreement to pay the 50% back as they said they would. Alibaba have closed the case again so I cannot contact them unless I raise another complaint.. We send emails to them every day to pay the money back we agreed to and we have no response.
Shijiangzhuang Langxu Glassware Co Ltd, is a very dishonest company!! Do not deal with them! The quality of products is very poor and the sales manager will lie and cheat not to accept any responsibility for their poor quality work and scam people. All they will do is take your money and run!!
Alibaba, do not rely on them to assist with anything. It is their responsibility also to ensure their suppliers listed on their website are credible and will respect the international market they are selling to. They should not be listing suppliers that are cheats and liars like Shijiangzhuang Langxu Glassware Co Ltd.
Do not trust any Chinese supplier!! Do not pay them anything until you have seen or checked all of what you paid for. Once the deal is done they do not accept responsibility for anything once they have their money. They have no sense for ‘partnership’, ‘working together’, only making the sale then walking away from the problems.
We think the buying market has now shifted to other parts of the world now because of these problems with China. Most people we speak to have similar issues and are now looking for other solutions outside of China, we are doing the same.
