Asked for quotations on Alibaba.com. Received a number of direct emails. The email I received from “Asher” from “Go China Promotion” with the pricing etc looked good. After doing my own checks proceeded with order. “Asher” asked if we could do an IMT depositing funds of $1,350. We did this on 23/5/17 and have had no goods and no responses to subsequent emails. Looks like we have been scammed. The bank transfer was in the name of Huang Zhi Qiang.

I should have done the following better:
Ask for the company name and address that will be mentioned on the invoice.
Should have mentioned to the supplier that we will have their factory audited before any PO is issued.
