Stage of relationship with the supplier at the time of the incident:
James Luan, of STE Electronics, SenTe Electronics and LGS Electronics is a dishonest supplier. I purchased hard drives from him 2 times prior to this last sale. The arrangement is that I pay up front and when the drives arrive to me I have them tested. The first order I paid up front, he reduced the quantity promised (after my payment) and instead of refunding the difference, we decided to accept a different drive for the difference. Because of this issue, we didn’t pay up front on the second order and upon our test determined that 2 of the drives were bad so we only paid for what passed and didn’t lose money. This 3rd order, we purchased a different drive, he said only pre-payment would be accepted and offered a full refund within 24 hours if these drives failed. Upon testing, with 2 completely different test machines/systems these drives are crashing the machines and can’t even get to the testing process. I don’t know what these drives are comprised of but they’re definitely not KN09 drives. Now he’s refusing to refund me saying that he can’t “trust” that these all failed! He also told me that he doesn’t have the ability to test drives himself but then lied and said he tested them and they all passed but can’t supply any test papers for this. He has 3 different company names, SenTe Electronics, STE Electronics and LGS Electronics, and his email address is firstname.lastname@example.org. Stay away, he’s dishonest and will not accept responsibility or honor his promises.
For years, as a general rule, I don’t buy from overseas suppliers. Especially suppliers from China/Hong Kong as there is very little recourse. However, since we needed these drives I decided to roll the dice. And I got burned.
Stay away from James Luan and whatever company names he next decides to do business under!
