It was a sort of “New Bank Account Scam”. They are, or at least they pretend to be, a measuring equipment manufacturer. They put a third party’s bank account number in the sales contract. That third party, they say, is a branch of them. When you make an initial payment to that account, they say that third party and its account number have nothing to do with them and, accordingly, they never received any payment from you. When you ask them “Who then put the false account in the contract?” they send you a forged contract copy with, supposedly, the correct account number, not the third party’s account they initially used. All you can do after that is to take it to court.
