Stage of relationship with the supplier at the time of the incident:
This company contacted me after I made a request on Alibaba and Global Sources.
I ordered 3 sample yoga mats from them and they delivered quickly. I then ordered another 3 with the changes which were also delivered quickly.
On the 3rd and 8th of August 2016 I made an order for 410 yoga mats, to be delivered in 30 days, paying a total of $3,895 USD. After I made the payment there was no contact for 2 weeks. I am extremely stressed. They eventually contacted me and weeks after weeks gave me excuse after excuse.
I knew they never intended to send my product so I requested a full refund. They agreed and sent me a form to sign to cancel the order. No money was ever refunded even after numerous attempts to contact them. Requesting money through PayPal, they have since yesterday deleted all email addresses and all websites.
When you search their company name 100s of websites come up. They have so many different businesses. Not to be trusted at all. I am in the process of hiring lawyers and trying to trace them through the bank transfer I did.
Make sure they answer all your specific questions and don’t let overseas companies bluff with the language barrier.
Research research research!! Had I put in the time before hand I would have found them to be terrible people before I sent them money.
Talk to any people you deal with on the phone, get a proper address and pay through PayPal – I think you are covered more than if you transfer through the bank. I know these things sound obvious but when a company promises you a product that you have been searching for or developing, you want it to be true so it’s easier to believe them.
